Machine Shop

CNC Operator/Programmer

 

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

Efficiently perform all tasks involved in the production of company’s products, follow standard work methods, and develop, practice, safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.  Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.

 

Primary duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

This position will support the ongoing development and maintenance of the machine shop and includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Program, Set-Up, and Operate CNC Haas HL1 Lathe and a VF2 Vertical Mill.  Both machines have Fanuc Controllers with G&M code.

  • Program, Set-up, and Operate manual drill presses

  • Oversee cattle bowl and curb shoe operation including painting and assembly

  • Load and unload incoming and outgoing freight with a forklift as required.

  • Work from blueprints

  • Completion of daily production documentation

  • Performs other related duties and assignments as required

Other Reqired Functions:

  • Complete and maintain plant cleaning on a daily basis.

  • Maintain and track plant inventories

  • Direct communication with shipping department

Required Physical Demands of job:​

  • Standing, walking, balancing, crawling, crouching, stooping, climbing, bending, sitting, kneeling, reaching & feeling for long periods of time throughout the work shift.

  • Talking and hearing,

  • Vision (far and near)

  • Ability to lift 1-50 lbs.

  • Ability to carry 1-50 lbs.

  • Ability to push, pull, and handle up to 65 lbs.

 

Environmental working conditions

Employee will be exposed to:

  • Vibrations

  • Machinery

  • Noise levels up to 90 decibels

  • Paint Fumes

 

Equipment and Machinery Used

  • Manual tools (hammers, wrenches, etc.)

  • Various machines and equipment

  • Hearing and eye protection

  • Metatarsal guard kick-off boots and hearing and eye protection

Education, prior work experience, specialized skills, and knowledge

  • Minimum High School Education

  • Must have excellent communication skills

  • Must know G & M Codes

  • Must be able to read blueprints

  • Advanced math skills are required

  • Forklift Operator skills

  • Drill press operator skills

  • Specified CNC operator skills

  • Ability to work with limited supervision

  • CNC Programming knowledge a plus
